Vintage military rifle match
A vintage military rifle match will be held on May 15th 2010 at 1:30 pm. The course of fire will follow NRA highpower rules but an "as issue" military rifle from any country may be fired as long as the rifle and ammunition are safe. Match director will deturmine what is a safe rifle or ammunition. For this match, a vintage service rifle will NOT include any semi-automatic rifle such as a M-1 Grand. Sniper rifle versions will not be allowed to compete. The idea behind this match is to test interest and to provide a low cost way for new shooters to try out high power shooting. Examples of rifles that can be used in this match are Krag, M1903 Springfield, M1903A3 springfield, nearly any Mauser, Russian Mossin Nagant and Japanize Arasaki.

Relay times?
Is more time allowed for each relay ie: timed fire, rapid fire because of the bolt actions used and or the increased reloading times? I know when the military was using bolt guns, their qualification time per relay was greater.

All targets will be (NRA) SR-1s at 100 yds for each stage.
Sighting shots 5 shots in 5 minutes
Slow fire prone 20 shots in 20 minutes
Rapid fire prone from standing 10 shots in 80 seconds
Rapid fire kneeling or sitting from standing 10 shots in 70 seconds
Slow fire standing 10 shots in 10 minutes
Two people have asked me if their moderatly modified rifles will be allowed to compete. If you have a rifle like this bring it to the match. Modified vintage military rifles will be placed into a seperate class and compete against themselves.
